When Spring Takes Wing

When Spring Takes Wing

Imagine the first morning of Chinese New Year. The door opens, familiar voices fill the house, and the first ang pao changes hands. The two birds on this design capture that moment. One sweeps across a sky of curling clouds, while the other rises from the lower corner, as if both are carrying good news home.

Vermilion and tangerine bring the warmth of the celebration to the design. A circular lattice anchors the scene, while tiny blossoms reward a closer look. As the packet passes from one hand to another, the gold stamping catches the light. Inside is a gift. In the giving is a wish for good news and joyful reunions in the year ahead.
